如何申请

All prospective students must submit a completed Application for Admission.

Electronic application submission is preferred. The electronic application is found on our website

Students who do not attend the term for which they apply may update their application within one year by using the update form

Students who applied more than one year ago, but did not enroll, must submit a new application and all supporting documents. A printable application is available on the website

A non-refundable $40 application fee ($35 online) is required of:

All first-time applicants (freshman and transfer)

Applicants who applied or were enrolled six or more years ago

No application processing fee is required for the following:

Former GCSU students enrolled within the past six years

Applicants who applied and paid the application fee within the past six years, but never enrolled

All high school transcripts and test scores must be sent directly from the high school or testing center to the GCSU Office of Admissions. Faxed documents and copies provided by the student are NOT considered official and will not be considered for admission purposes.

Courses from one institution listed on another college transcript will not substitute for an official transcript.

Prior educational experience may not be omitted from an application package.

Note: The University System of Georgia has announced that the 

three most selective public universities in the state of Georgia will require standardized test scores for fall 2024 admission for first-year students. As one of the top three most selective public universities in the state, 

Georgia College & State University will require the SAT or ACT for admissions for fall 2024.

Keep in mind, that GCSU employs a holistic admissions review process that takes into account a variety of factors such as GPA, difficulty of courses taken in high school, your essay, resume, and letters of recommendation. In addition, you may submit self-reported test scores for initial admissions review. If you are admitted using self-reported scores and choose to enroll at Georgia College & State University, you must submit official test scores by May 1, 2024.

Dr. Bob Wilson Scholarship - The Department of History and Geography awards the Bob Wilson Scholarship each year to a rising junior history major (or minor) with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who is judged by the Department to best represent the spirit of engagement in the pursuit of history with preference given to a student-focused on local or public history, wherever they may find it.

The award honors Prof. Bob Wilson, much beloved and valued by students, colleagues, and the community for his scholarly passion for the history of Milledgeville, Georgia, for his wit and wisdom, and his unrivaled collegiality.
